| :thought of moving it closer to improve response and not be sensitive to frontal air turbulence? I am thinking of doing that making my intake in all 3 inch pipe from the filter to the turbo. You'll most likely have to go to a dual MAF setup. One in each location just before the Throttle Body. This is easily doable by simply removing your existing 12" stock rubber intake piping that feeds the throttle body. You'll orientate each MAF so the connector doesn't interfere with anything of course. Them you can buy regular silicone adapters that should allow you to adapt the MAFs. My only concern with this configuration is two fold. Are there any MAF reading delays in the ECU that take into account the distance between the TB/Intake and the stock location? If so, how will that affect idle and performance? How will high boost applications react to the MAF and how will the HOT air from a turbo application effect MAF readings? Recall that a hotwire MAF is based on how much voltage is lost across a hot wire, as the air cools it. If the incoming air is cold, then the MAF will be more accurate in determiningg how much air the engine is consuming. If it's hot air... then how will that effect a hotwire MAF? Good luck, and I look forward to your results.
