Quiet a few months ago Wiseco had a recall on their pistons designed for the Z32 due to some major noise aka. "piston slap". We all know this was due to the offset that was not either properly identified and consequentially incorrectly installed, hence the piston slap. Wiseco has addressed the flaw and released a new design and concept. I've recently purchased the "newer" Wiseco pistons with polymer coating. However, I do get a sort of "vibration" noise just above idle (between 1800-2400RPM). I have changed the cam gears with JUN adjustable, looked all over the front of the motor...found nothing that contributes to the noise. It does get quieter after the motor has fully warmed up or after a good run but there is still that bothersome noise. My conclusion is the newer Wiseco pistons, albeit quieter than the previous diesel sounding ones, still have piston slap due to their forged nature (expanding/contracting). My question...Has anyone used the newer pistons and discover the same noise I'm experiencing?
