| After a friend was busted for a too-loud exhaust, we tested a few of our TT's according to SAE J1169 (4800 rpm, 18", 45 deg angle towards outside), specified by CA law. Here are the results: Stillen (w/ stock (I think) cats): 85 dB-A B & B (2.5", test pipes): 96 dB-A LaBree w/ high-flow cats and big LaBree resonators: 89 dB-A (me) LaBree w/ high-flow cats, no resonators was: 93 dB-A (bustee) Stillen was very quiet. JWT/Genie is too but we didn't have one to test. Looks like big LaBree resonators are worth 4 dB-A. CA law specs max at 95 dB-A but the test allows for 96.5 B&B's resonators are quite small in diameter. B&B will give you "tip reducers," 2" pipes that stick into the mufflers. My car was still too loud between 2K and 3K rpm. B&B is not a straight through design. I sold my 3" B&B and bought LaBree.
