Message Look on this site for things that break and fail over time. Replace these first that way you won't break your $10k budget because you have $10k in aftermarket parts and alot of broken parts.

Here's what I suggest:
1)Headunit and Speakers
2)Fuel Pump
3)Wheel Bearings (if they're not going)
4)Injectors (if not getting upgrades, at least have them cleaned)

You'll need to have the car first to decide what needs replacement. I suggest you buy every little coolant line for the car so that as you upgrade stuff you can replace those hard to get to ones (nothing is more frustrating than dropping a transmission for a pinhole leak in a 3" coolant line).

Follow the staged upgrade paths and you won't be dissappointed. Also decide what you want to do with the car before you get it. If you're building a show car you don't need for it to have 700hp. The Z engine bay is pretty cramped and there isn't visual difference between high hp engines and stock ones that are dressed up. If you're going for a 1/4 mile beast, then you'll need to consider launch control, rims and slicks for racing. If you want to road race then you'll want to buy a second set of wheels for the car (stock for racing or get some aftermarket for daily and stock for racing) and descent tires (stay away from racing compounds at first, you'll build skill that way, instead of relying on the tire).
