Message My driving instructor taught me that way back. Makes plenty of sense. MOST of the time you think SHIT, something in front of me, must move out of it's way.... your blood starts pumping, nerves on edge... you swerve but accidently swerve too much, (most of the time I see this) you lose control, put yourself in a ditch or possibly into another car.
I guess my only suggestion for swerving to miss something is AFTER you've already slammed on your break and you're just about to hit the object, either release the brake and coast to swerve around the object OR when your brakes are slammed, let ABS do it's thing and manage to steer around the object.
Yes, I know, easier said than done, especially when there's a 500lbs animal in front of you.
Glad to see you're safe and the S4 walked away with a scratch.
