but considering you'd have to machine a large hole in the stock cast exhaust manifold, or a custom log style manifold... well, i just don't think you have enough room to install a bypass directly to the exhaust manifold.I think you'd end up disturbing exhaust flow pretty badly either way. This is one of those deals where you are trying to turn your microwave oven into a refrigerator. In other words, It can be done, but you should have just bought the right turbo for the application iniitially. I think you'd be much better off selling your 1420s and upgrading to a 1820. It will probably cost less to just upgrade in the long run, versus getting unkown results from scabbing something together. If you have stock cast manifolds, it will be even harder and you may get into having problems with cracking of welds/manifolds and such.
