I had 1, but it dissapeared over the years, but here's the legacy of the Diablo, or its downfall: My father took the car out for a spin one afternoon. He gets about a mile down the road & a pick-up decides to wait until the last second to brake for a turn. My father slams on the clutch and the brakes, and the pedal snaps off so there is just a metal bar to press down. Well in dress shoes, you have no chance of sucessfully applying pressure to a small (maybe 1 square inch) piece of metal. He had two choices, get up close and personal with the tow hitch (as it was about eye level), or the second one, which he chose, to ditch off the road to the right. In doing so he went over a patch of grass, and in between two pine trees literally maybe a foot wider than the car, and ended up in a mulch pile. Cracked the front bumper, scratched the shit out of the front end, and the worst part- mulch went everywhere, there was a layer of mulch inside the car and in every crevice imaginable. He then promptly drove home, because who the hell wants to stick around after they crashed a Lamborghini. On the way home, about 50 ft from my house, the mulch that got stuck in the intake, caught fire. So he gets home and quickly puts the fire out, sends some of the landscapers over to the house that he "visited" and had them fix everything, and they actually did a lot more work on the yard then there was damaged. So my father goes inside and does what anyone would do in that situation- makes himself a drink or 2. Meanwhile I'm at my mothers house and cops show up asking if my father was home and where the Lambo was. So I told them that he lives about 15 mins away and they went over there. Long story short, my father is very active in PBA and supporting the police (his PBA card is a lifetime membership, a leather flip out with an engraved silver plaque) And these cops didn't want to hear any of it. They gave him so much shit, but he didnt injure anyone, and repaired the damage. They tried busting him for DUI, but he wasn't, they gave him tickets for everything under the sun, from no front license plate on the car to a change of address without reporting it. His attorney ended up working it so he lost his license for 3 months, but no charges were pressed, and no tickets were issued.
