Only BOVs that are vented to the atmosphere are, as I had stated in my original post. In fact MANY, MANY turbo cars come stock with a BOV, but these BOVs recirculate the air back into the intake. Putting on a BOV that vents to the air not only makes your car run rich, but it modifies the emissions from what it originally complied under, thus making it illegal. So putting a BOV that vents to the air not only makes your car run like shit unless you add something that lets you ditch the MAS (VPC, stand alone engine management, etc.), too much money in my opinion just to have a "whooosh" sound that attracts too much attention from the cops anyways. If you want to not get harrassed by cops, ditching that "cool" whoosh sound that you don't really need anyways would be a good place to start.
