Message	You pay for the materials used. 304 Stainless Steel is very expensive. I own a fitness center and we have ordered railings made from Stainless steel and it's not 304, it's the least expensive of them all, forgot which number though, well anyway it cost us $1200 USD. Point being you are paying for expensive materials, expensive packing in the exhaust so it will sound the same today as it will 5 years from now, and the R&D that goes into disigning a system with the best flow, scavenging charasteristics possible, then the fit and finish (welds come to mind) all add up. Trust US, we know, we've been through it, everyone is saying what they're saying for a reason. Aluminised steel will rot quite quick, sure it's coated but keep in mind they rot from the inside.
