First I had to prepare my Z for testing. I put the factory converters back on (have aftermarket down pipes on so no pre-converters), and put in Waukesha County’s conventional reformulated fuel in for testing (yuk). This county has a dyno setup for pre-1996 vehicles like mine. I went in and failed really bad. I knew I was screwed when the dreaded graph was printing out before the pass/fail report was generated. I looked at the graph and instantly had an idea of what the problem was. Every time the operator let off the gas the emissions would go through the roof, I guess my RFL BOV's have to be swapped out for the factory recirculation valves for emissions testing. Later that morning I went back home, swapped the equipment and re-tested 1.5 hours later. Passed with flying colors.
This was something that I overlooked when setting my vehicle up to be tested. Maybe this post will help future searches concerning emissions.
