Message :::the product has to be unique.
::I haven't seen a solid plastic tester with a low pressure gauge like his on the market.
:I have. Member Willy Coffey sold these a while ago in the classifieds section. This is the main reason I object to what he is doing, because he is claiming his idea is unique enough to patent when it has been done before.

He's not claiming the idea is unique. He's claiming his product is unique. Chris' is a solid piece of plastic, not a hollow cap. Chris' has a low pressure gauge, not one that starts at 10 PSI.

:Using your reasoning, Ford could have patented the "car" and been done with it. His is unique from the other testers I've seen.
:Ford can't patent a car, but they can patent unique aspects of it. The same applies to a boost leak tester.

Exactly. Why can't he patent the unique aspects of his tester? I haven't seen another one made of a solid chunk of plastic. I've no idea if this design is any better than any other design, but it is unique.
