I remember as a kid the Mazda having 4WS first back in the 80s(may have been the MX-6), golfer Lee Trevino was in the commercial and the camera showed the rear wheels turning as it drove. Also, I think the 240SX SE came out with HICAS(not Super HICAS) back in their first 89 model. The Prelude had it in 88, not 87 and it was mechanical. It wasn't till the next ugly generation Prelude that electronic 4WS came out. The VERY first car I've ever seen with HIDS was the 1997 Lincoln Mark XIII, although my friend's 97 BMW 750iL had them too. I think the mid-80s Vette had an adjustable suspension, at least I think I remember it in my old 80s Vette mag. I understand you said you do know that a few other cars also had this stuff in them, this is just some info. But I always thought the Z was waaay ahead of their time when they brought out the Z32, there was no other car like it. Shit, Toyota still have the old Supra style till 93.5, and so did Mazda. I still can't think of another car that had projectors before the Z, even though the 90 BMW 325 had them, but they're a completely different design. The interior design itself is still modern and outclassed any other car out there. I always find it hard to believe that the Z32 was only 7 years after my rinky-dink 280ZX. As a middle school kid, it was the first real supercar seen on the streets, nothing ever like it before.
