Message as I've already explained. The side of the plenum where my boost gauge taps off had a normally functioning wastegate.

With the BC off, I should have been running 9psi. I noticed the car boosting to 13psi, which I thought was strange, and immediately heard slight detonation. Of course I backed off and found the problem.

My point is this: if the balance tube is so great, why would I detonate from only 13 psi? The answer is this: the pressure in the cylinder bank with the open wastegate was MUCH higher.
