boost, open egr port, loose boost completely. Sounds pretty much conclusive to me. If that hole is big enough to loose all boost, why not balance tube hole. Kind of like the holes in your head lose all the air between your ears.
How do you know what the Nissan engineers had in mind? Did you sit down have lunch with them and ask them? Were our forged connecting rods only made to support stock boost as well? Or our fuel pump only made for 300HP? Or did they engineer things it only up to the point of stock levels? Engineers on any car always build in a buffer zone. They don't build parts up to the point of failure.
