I wouldn't pay you either. And if it was my car that got hit, I would've filed an insurance claim right away claiming comprehensive coverage for storm damage. Didn't you choose to park it in front of their house to begin with instead of in front of yours? Regardless, we had a similar incident with hurricane Floyd back in 99. A neighbor's tree (about 100' tree) was diseased and hollowed on the inside. Well, end result was this tree came crashing through the house causing about $70K in damages. The last thing we were worried about was asking the neighbors to pay due to negligence. (They should've cut the tree down a long time ago.) That's what insurance is for.
