Message Well, today Frances is all but a memory in the form of some residual rain bands, but I figured I would post some pictures taken around Tampa yesterday. Now everyone can see all the fun that a Hurricane/Tropical storm brings with it.

This first set was taken down around Ashley street which borders downtown on the west by the Hillsborough river. In the pictures you can clearly see where the river has swolen and risen up into the streets.

Here is what Down Town normally looks like

Here are some pictures of Bayshore Blvd, for anyone that is unfamiliar with Bayshore its a long crescent shaped scenic boulevard which runs from downtown to Palmaceia bordering the bay. Today, its a haven for roller bladers, bikers, runners, etc.. as well as the home of the Gasparilla Day parade. Historicly, this is where most of the old money in Tampa resided with sprawling mansions from the 1880's-1940's. An odd fact, Bayshore Blvd is the longest continuous sidewalk in the world.

Lastly, a pic of the Tampa Tribune after the storm.
