Message Yes sir, I was raised on Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth, Anthrax, and all the late 80s/early 90s metal greats, as well as old-school hardcore (Judge, Gorilla Biscuits, Killing Time, Minor Threat/Fugazi, etc.). In fact, I'm currently giving heavy rotation to the new Bad Religion, Soulfly, old Gorilla Biscuits, Killing Time, Kittie (those chicks can jam) and Hatebreed. This stuff stays in your blood.

On your other point, I've been playing the guitar since I was 13 (now almost 30). My current setup is a Schecter C-1 Stealth (best guitar I've ever owned), Marshall MG50DFX, and a Digitech RP100A (strictly for effects, all the BEEF comes straight out of the Marshall).

I don't quite understand all the aversion to the so-called "nu-metal" scene, though. I happen to think there are some really great bands out today. They get the blood flowing and the pedal to the floor, if you know what I mean. While I'd like nothing better than to see the Fred Durst's of the world strung up like freshly slaughtered cattle, I actually really dig Korn, Slipknot, LP, and a host of other newer, heavy bands. Their stuff isn't the most complicated to play, but one can't deny that it gives the body a jolt (and that's what music is all about to me). As a matter of fact, one of my "top 5" favorite bands of all time is Incubus. Seen 'em live twice and those kids can PLAY!!! And trust me, Mike Einzinger knows the guitar. Serious skills.

Sorry for the long answer, but you've definitely tapped into a passion here. Raise your devil horns HIGH! >:)
