Message After all the previous posts you finally decided to give us a call. We told you to get the motor out and we would have it picked up and shipped to Z1. Several days later it was here. I personally pulled the timing covers off spun the motor around and then started noticing several key things.
We received a motor with the heat tabs that we install on the motor melted through. Those heat tabs are put on their for a reason. The black plastic on detonation sensor was melted down on the top of the block like a candle. Inside the coolant passages was stained yellow (completely in line with everything else). The car ran extemely hot; no if, ands, or buts. I am sorry to say that we don't warranty motors that have been seriously overheated. Neither does any other vendor. I'll be glad to post pics tomorrow when I have time. You went as far to say your radiator exploded in some previous posts, at that point I knew it overheated but I couldn't prove it. Nothing else caused all of this except the simple fact that the car ran low or out of coolant. Usually when they run this hot they just shut down and then later on you can start them back up, but they are usually not going to run very well due to warped heads causing loss of compression or a variety of other issues. Like getting water in the oil etc. Completely in line with what you have said.
You said your radiator exploded, your car shut down, then later on it fired back up but didn't run very well.
I don't know why the car overheated but that is not Z1's problem. We didn't install this motor. My guess is that it sprung a coolant leak or had some of those pesky air pockets in the coolant system.
