So I have this motorcycle cop that started tailing me for a few miles even though I was going the speed limit and staying in one lane on a 45mph road in traffic. (is that a run on sentence or what). Anyways, he eventually pulls me over which I was expecting since at several stop lights he never pulled up next to me but stayed in my blind spot. After pulling me over he askes for my DL and reg. which I give him. Upon looking at my liscense (sp?) he says "where's your corrective lenses?", since I where glasses. I promptly point to my face and say, "on my face", which they were. From there he askes if I "even" have insurance. Give me a break, I am 31 years old and on my way to work at a hospital and wearing my scrubs. I dont exactly look like a drug dealer or low life. I hand him my insurance and say" here you go, I have LOTS of insurance". He also ordered me to turn off the car and hand over my keys. Finally he tells me that the reason he pulled me over is that he believes my exhaust is illegal. I have a Stillen exhaust which as far as I know is street legal and that has been on the car for over 3 years. Which I explain to him. He then wants to know every modification I have done to my car, since he says and I quote, "Any modification to a motor vehicle is illegal and a modification is anything that is not exactly how it was when it left the factory". So he ends up keeping me on the side of the road for 20 minutes while he hassles me about my car. Finally he wants me to pop the hood. By this time I am tired of all this and ask him why he feels it necessary to bust my balls. His dead pan answer was because he can. What an a**hole. So I pop the hood and say, "there you go, its an engine." Smart ass I know but I was pretty well annoyed at this point. So I get a lecture and am told that I have to remove all modifications to my car. He then gets on his bike and almost rides away with all my paperwork and my keys. No ticket or anything. The only thing I can figure is either he has issues with sports cars or since Racho Cordove just recieved city hood they are trying anything to boost revenue. Who knows. So I end up being late for work and miss 2 places I had to go on the way there. It was a very annoying day. Anyone else have a similar experience? Thanks for letting me talk. Chris.
