If you're going to join the flows with an X or an H pipe, why separate them again? A single pipe will lose less energy from heat dissipation through pipe walls (which means more energy in the exhaust flow). The single will also weigh less (my N1 weighs 30 pounds from the cats back) and you can shift that weight to the passenger side for slightly better weight distribution. Sure, a single doesn't look as balanced as dual mufflers and a huge angled tip isn't exactly subtle or stock-looking. I'm not a big bling fan plus I'd like to make the exhaust a little more stealth, so I'm going to be painting the tip and can on mine flat black. Anyway, here's some pics of mine during install (save the wheel police tickets for the noobs - I mixed 'em up while doing some work on the brakes and they have since been put on correctly):
