Originally was going to use 40 grit sandpaper.....
Decided to go with 80 grit circular sandpaper. Any kind of sandpaper I used, but I went to autozone and they had "automotive" sandpaper there, 2.99 for a pack of 5 adhesive backed circular paper to use with my 5 inch orbital sander. It will take a LONG time to do it by hand. At least 4 times as long. I got my sander for real cheap at sears....you can get a good cheap one from harbor frieght that is pnematic, so you can use it to wet sand later. I went with 80 grit because I thought 40 was too rough, it might take a little bit longer, but I think it will be worth it. It looks good so far but be warned....it is time consuming. If you don't have patience, you probably will quit.
