Message	I know where only joking here as Marines. But Parris Island is no joke compared to Sunny Southern CA. Think of it like Full Metal Jacket is to Parris Island like Gomer Pyle is to MCRD San Diego. Think of it like this. You take a long bus ride about 1am out on a long bridge to an Island knowing there's only one way off. You will not see life as you once knew it again until (a) you graduate in 3 months, (b) you quite and get sent home (c) get hurt and or recycled and could be there for a very long time more. Yes, I went to Parris Island myself. But my father was a DI at San Diego too, so I was raised on that base amongst many others. So I know what their both like.
