| I'm currently going through this "way to damned long" process and I'd like to see who else is going in the same direction I am. I havent had much time to browse the boards to stay updated so I apologize if I dont know who all is doing what, lol. I will be picking my block, heads, crank, flywheel, pulley, pistons, rods all up from the machine shop tomorrow. The block was bored .020 to accomodate the Wiseco's and I gave the crank a good poilshing as well as had some oil passages drilled out. The rest of the items were all balanced with the crank (yummy!) This is all going to be installed with the Z1 stage 2 turbo's (ordering tomorrow hopefully) and temporarily ran on a Stage 3 proggy.
In the meantime I have managed to keep myself busy buy cleaning up alot of the misc parts that make a rebuild so fun. I am not sure what color I want to go with the valve covers so I sand blasted the old red powdercoat off.
Took the oil pan to the parts cleaner setup then I scratched it all up and gave it a nice coat of fresh paint
Here are the babies, I will miss them. 93k miles later and still no shaft play :( Good turbos-but time for something bigger
And to finish off this weekends work I wanted to clean the engine bay up. After a good power-douching it was looking ok, but then the whole rear section started to piss me off with its dullness so I wanted to paint it. I know you cant even see back there when the engine is installed but I figured what the heck-at least I can tell people its clean back there. Crossmember and stuff all washed down-Dont worry about the PS pump its getting painted black.
Taping it all up, then spraying.
The finished product
Thanks for viewing, i look foreward to see what else is doing and PS-I couldnt find anyone to take a picture of me doing the traditional "shocker-in-the-bay" so we'll just have to do w/out!
