Message It seems to be controversial, and I really don't know why. With the type of ignition system that the Z32 uses (direct ignition, 1 coil per cylinder), the coil packs *can* get tired at high rpms. What I mean is that when the packs are firing really fast (i.e. at high rpms), they *may* not have enough time to recharge between discharges. This *can* be a cause of a jagged power curve on a dyno (looks like detonation, but it's really that the cylinders aren't getting all the spark that they could be). The Twin Power Ignition Amplifier would definately help this. I'll buy one for my car someday. What's the worst that could happen? Nothing?

On my dyno chart, my ignition spikes (all above ~5k rpms) were as large as 20-25rwhp. I feel it's because my coil packs are getting old and not recharging fast enough (it definately wasn't detonation).

btw, people who have installed it comment on better throttle response and smoother idle.
