you run ice water in them. Obviously, you can't do that for an extended period of time, and once the water reaches ambient temp, it actually can heatsoak the core and become less efficient than a similar air-air core. For use on a car that is strictly being run for short periods of time (i.e, at the drag strip or possibly even on smaller autocross courses) a water-air running ice water is a superior choice. For street and track driving, though, air-air is the better option. Oh yeah, go to college ;-)
