| but i'm new... from what i understand though, the surveys are sent to the manufacturer and are like a report card for the dealer. the better the customer service, the friendlier the manufacturer is to the dealer. Popular dealers that make the manufacturer look good get rewards. and so far, i haven't heard of salesmen getting fired for two bad reports... i think it takes a few more than two. at the honda dealer i worked in, if the report wasn't 100% complete or 100% marked "excellent", then it was considered a fail.
