Message As some of you know, I've been tracking my mpg for a long time now. I normally sits between 16 and 24 mpg. (Sorry, the link is an old chart, have not refreshed it for a long time.) The only occasion I got up toward 27 mpg it was immediately followed by abyssimal mpg at the track so I thought there was a good chance the previous fill-up was incomplete and I got a bad read.

Well, on my way back from Wisconsin yesterday, I was determined to use no A/C and keep my windows closed. My prior tank of gas gave me normal mpg and this tank was 27.7 mpg...my best ever. If my next fill looks normal, I'll conclude that the 27.7 was fairly reliable.

Highway + no A/C...I wish Chicago had longer cool seasons so I could try it more often! We seem to leap from Winter directly into Construction (hot!) season. And I store the car in the Winter. During Construction, no A/C = sticking to leather...

Hey, what are you lookin' at? I said it was a useless post...

- John
