Message	Good news is, it was the bulb. It was white in the middle and clearly blown somehow. However, it doesn't match my other 4,100K Philips bulb at all and I'm really a stickler for symmetry. Then again, I got a smoking deal on this bulb and if the seller has another one, I'll just get it and keep the existing one as a backup. Thanks Nick.
