| as most of you know i recently bought a 1990 ttz which had been owned previously by two members of this site. (damonz and damonh) ...well here's my two week adventure.
june 25th i took delivery
and we dug into the task at hand.
ok...that was easy enough...fun. wee. we cleaned up everything and made sure all was tight and a-ok. now came the fun part.
we didnt run into anything major while putting everything back together. the tranny stab went well. the engine dropped in just fine. everything else went a-ok...until......we put water in. as we put water into the radiator we noticed that it just poored out of the bottom of the motor. my heart sank because i thought something MAJOR happened. when we checked we noticed that the two water plugs from draining the block were missing. oops.
after some scrambling around we found the plugs that we need. (with the help of kyle@sgp) .. 1/4inch pipe thread plugs for reference. after all the little bugs worked out ...we started it. oops...had some gas issues that kyle@sgp helped with once again. ..after the fuel pressure issue was solved ..bam..fired right up and idle'd at 1500rpm with no miss, no major noise, nothing...surprised. so after we take it off the jack stands and take her for a spin to the gas station. i was surprised at how well it ran. no problems at all. nothing. so we head back to the house and then get it ready to take home.
