locking mechanism attached to the rear down(the latch part held by three bolts.) Anyway, I think I stripped something because just as the screws tighten when I apply torque to them, they click and get loose again and this is an endless cycle; rather annoying if you ask me. Anyway I went to the dealer to ask their opinion on the matter and the tech there said I stripped the latch's threads and I have three options: 1. Buy a new latch, 2. Drill holes so that I can fit a 8mm bolt in place of the old 6mm bolt or my idea, 3. Use nuts at the end of the bolts and tighten the damn apparatus. I figured I's do my idea because it is the easiest and cheapest. Anyway, I can do the nut for the single one easy access bolt, but the other two are a $&%^*#) nuisance to do (can't get my fingers in there to put the nut on the other side of the bolt). Anyone have ideas on how to do this or any other ideas?!?! My hatch was thumping over hard bumps and I just wanted to tighten it again. Now this, agghh! Also worse case scenario, anyone know what the latch apparatus (the locking part attached to the frame that has the three bolts holding it in) cost?. I'm going to call Vince tommorow and ask him, but I really want to do the three nuts quick fix because that's all that is really needed provided I can get them on the bolts. The hatch design really wasn't made for the long term! Peace out,
