Message	For some folks, the expenditure of a few hundred dollars won't register on the radar while for others it will. Communicating your plans to make a purchase is a wise thing to ensure that those funds haven't been spent elsewhere, or are needed for something of vital importance. Getting permission vs. telling is subject to interpretation and cannot be used as an absolute for every situation. I'm not arguing against your point, I'm trying to add some clarification to it.
