| If it were oil starvation or contamination, the wear pattern would have been more similar between all of the bearings. All of the bearing tolerances were the same for each journal at 0.0011" - I spent a good bit of time with the machinist when these parts were machined so as to enable us to use the same bearing grade for every journal (all of the crank pins were a grade 1 on that crank) and have the same tolerance of 0.0011" - which is a specification within Nissan's OEM tolerances. I'm not going to predispose the explanation to only being the pulley, although there is a lot more evidence supporting that theory right now than any other explanation. I will need to look further into crankshaft harmonics and what the wear trends are for other engines that have run without harmonic dampeners.
