Message Personally, I would go for a 240Z instead of a 280ZX. Lighter and much less complicated to work on. The V8 conversion has been done a million times and you can find a ton of resources to help you on the web. Here's a few good links to check out...

Installing a V8 into your Z

Also, you may decide to go the turbocharging route. You can do a full 30psi L28 engine that can produce over 400HP. You could spend anywhere from $5000 to over $10K depending on how safe you want to make it (water injection, etc) Take a look at the link below for more Turbocharging info...

For a huge amount of info on V8 conversions and L28 conversions, go to Zhome.com and scroll down to the "Modifications for More HP" section (on the left).

Here's a few pics of BOTH setups to wet your appetite...

...or, ever think of doing a VG30DETT transplant? :-) Greg Dupree did, check out this video!

Someone posted a video of a 240z (or maybe 280) with a Corvette LT1 engine swap. If you want it, email me.
Good luck on the project. Don't do the CRX, keep it in the Z family! Hope this helps!
