Message First of all, I would need to know the products and process you used. Clay bars remove the contaminants from the clear coat. A combination product like cleaner wax, just further embeds the contaminants in the clearcoat. After a clay treatment, then the car needs to be polished with a paint clense or pure polish. Then wax and then a top polish coat for depth. The film is not only polluntion but the Ph of the water. Correct detailing processes will do the trick. I would also suggest you use a different type of car wash. It appears that the stuff you may be using is also a candidate for leaving a film

: Ever since I started living in Denver I've noticed there is always a film that builds up on my car that won't come off when it's washed. I assume it's from pollution, being when I lived in Iowa I didn't have a probelm. I've seen past posts of people using the claybar and have had good results with it. I tried it last night and it didn't seem to do anything but make it look worse. I ended up trying a Cleaner-wax and it did the trick easily. Anyone else have any problems?
