Four of us (DrCanAceU...Dean, WXY...Mike, Greg D...Greg D., and Sirpriz...Mark Leader) are involved in a group buy in having NHRA spec roll bars installed (5 or 6 point bars). This is being done by Eric Kardell of Kardell Customs in Reseda, Ca. The bars are made of chromoly and weigh a total of 40 lbs., with a removable side bar. Pictures will be available tomorrow at Eric's website: [ www.KARDELLCustoms.com. ] The group buy price for the five point bar is $950, including a removable side bar. 5 point harnesses are also available (see details on Eric's website). To get in the group buy, you need to send Eric a $100 non-refundable deposit, which holds a spot for 6 months at the group buy price. As most of you know, the four of us are particularly anal about what gets done to our cars, and by whom. Eric compliments that anal approach in his meticulous work. If you drag race your car, and go 11.99 or quicker (per NHRA rules), or road race your car and need proper safety equipment (per SCCA, etc.), then this is a great deal.
