| just this past Friday at Willow Springs. Unfortunately, in the fourth session, my turbo died. I have since had a chance to take the turbo apart and found the bearings to be destroyed. I have not figured out why yet. Getting back to the comparison. There is no clear cut answer on which is better. Also, I have only run the S13 at the track twice so far at Willow Springs and Streets of Willows, so I have a lot less time and development than in the Z. The S13 feels a lot nimbler and tossable as one would expect from the weight advantage of 2680 lbs versus the 3500 lbs on the Z. With the lower weight and the big brake kit, I am able to get away running high end street pads on the S13, so pad changes are unnecessary. This is a very nice feature in my mind as brake changes and bedding in at the track are no longer necessary. The area where the Z shines is in the powerband with gobs of torque. I am definitely shifting more in the 240 than I would be in the 300. Scott just walked away from me exiting turns. I would be on his bumper going in and he just literally walked away from me. When I built the S13, it was with intent of it being the car that I would use on the track and retiring the Z from the track. Blowing up one Z at the track did it for me. In the long run, I believe it will be cheaper to run the S13 at the track than the Z and definitely easier to work on. When the turbo died or anything else does, this is a lot easier car to work on. Although I am letting my shop do it this time, I could have done so myself. I was just a bit burned out from having just reinstalled the turbo myself the day before the track event. Now try imagining doing a turbo change on the Z32. Both are great and capable cars, it is just a matter of preferences and resources available to you Glenn
