Message I'm all for building up a motor and seeing what the limits are, but your thinking behind this differs quite a bit from most. You spend all that damn money to get the car to where it is at and you wont spend the extra coin for race gas and peace of mind. These cars are so damn close to bulletproof if you can guarantee no detonation (or come as close to possible). Race gas allows for SO much error it's sickening. That's all I'm saying.

Where Seb and perhaps even Ash are coming from is the fact that REGARDLESS of the specific turbo, that's a hell of a lot of boost on pump gas (even the great 94 octane). Let me emphasize this again, regardless of the specific turbo. Take a look at the turbo car scene as a whole...how many cars of any make/model do you see run ~24 psi on any turbo on pump gas? Very, VERY few and those that do have been shown not to last. There's a few handfuls of Supra guys that have touted how much they can get out of pump fuel and what you don't hear is just how many end up blowing it up within a short amount of time. You see shit like that grace magazine covers all the time but those are usually short lived or cars that are detuned later on. I used to write for the mags, I've seen it time and time again.

And sure, anything can happen at anytime as you said. Indeed, who is to say a fuel pump wont fail. But when you run it closer to 10/10ths, you simply increase the risk. Whereas 3 or 4 kinds of failures might cause a problem on a certain setup, 7 or 8 things might cause a problem when running at 10/10ths. Don't worry, I see your philosophy here...we're not confused at all and it IS your decision. I just don't think it will last if you drive it that way. I don't know your intentions with the car, so maybe it doesn't matter. I hope I'm wrong and if not, maybe you have the money to keep fixing it. Cars with that much power tend to break things so it wont be a shock to you I'm sure.

So either way, good luck.
