Message What happens when your fuel pump dies on stock turbos at 15psi? What happens if your timing is too far advanced on stock turbos at 15psi? What happens if you get bad fuel on stock turbos at 15psi? Detonation. Does this mean we should all be running race gas all the time??

Seb says to turn it down cause he THINKS 24 psi sounds like too much boost to run. How many PE1420 setups has he run and for how long? There is NO evidence whatsoever of any detonation at any period since it was first started. So why do you treat something thats not there just because you think it should be there? If you do then you can say the same thing about running 20 psi or 18 or 15. Where do you draw the line? Just where you THINK it sounds like a safe number, nothing based on fact.

I dont discount Sebs and Ashz advice by any means because I know they have a lot of experience, just the scientist in me says that it needs to be based on fact.

The engine is built to hold 800-1000HP. If it ever does have some mild detonation Im sure it wont be the end of the world. Why go to the expense of building a "built" motor and then not even push it? If something goes that badly that it destroys the motor then Im sure it would of been toast regardless.
