That area(Hacienda Heights, City Of Industry, Rowland Heights, etc) is targeted for alot of Street Racing.
A friend of mine from Pleasant Hill who owns a Z was down in that same area a couple of months ago visiting family, and also got pulled over for the "Modified Exhaust". He has a Greddy SP, with a rear valance so all you see are the tips. His car isn't even loud. Anyhow, Cop asked him to pop his hood, he asked what would happen if he refused. Cop said he will be placed under arrest. Well , the idiot refused, and got arrested. Felt the cop had no reason to order him to pop the hood, anyhow, cops still popped his hood, He has a polished intake and hardpipes(Nothing Illegal), You cant see the Dual Pop or the FMIC(Stock Bumper), They couldn't tell if anything was modified(He heard one of the cops say "there's so many hoses, I cant tell what belongs there and what doesn't)Well they cited him for modified exhaust, and of course arrested him as well, said that his car was not street legal, blah, blah... He is now fighting it in court...I grew up in West Covina which is about 10 minutes away from Hacienda Heights, Puente Hills, etc.. I dont mean to offend anyone, but the area the guy got pulled over heavily populated by asians. A lot of modified imports can be found there. A couple of high school kids died street racing on Colima back in 1995 and that area has been targeted by cops ever since. MB
