Message A lot of you have asked about this since I built the original prototype for my own car almost two years ago in June 2002. I've since used this setup on my car with great results and made upgrades to it along the way - namely the upgraded rotor and EBC pads (my personal favorite). I've been working hard over the past few weeks to finalize this kit on a production level and get everything here on the shelves as well as have the technicians downstairs install kits on a couple of Zs to get their ideas and suggestions on the kit. The install is no more difficult than changing rotors since you have to remove the caliper to change rotors anyway - there is just the relocating bracket and other hardware that gets installed when it goes back together.

The parts for this kit have been specifically designed for this application and are not 'generic' parts, with the exception of the rotors themselves - they are an aftermarket replacement rotor for the Ford Cobra. The brackets have been laser-cut for precision and the hubcentric components have been specifically produced for our kits - they are not 'off the shelf' components you can get anywhere - they have been machined to our specifications to make this kit a precisely installed upgrade. Buying the parts in bulk have saved us some expense which is keeping the kit's price down to reasonable levels - and its a whole lotta brake for the buck. =)

This kit is designed to cater to the performance enthusiast that is looking for better braking capabilities and can't justify (or afford) the multi-thousand dollar solutions that are available. The improved performance from this kit is unmatched by any stock-sized rotor brake upgrade - you simply cannot substitute square inches and mass!

So, without further adeu here she is:

Z1 13" Big-Brake Kit.
This brake kit features a 13" diameter 2-piece rotor with an aluminum hat and a special high-friction alloy disc which has been crossdrilled and slotted for improved braking performance.

**The rotors are guaranteed against warpage!

The aluminum hat lowers the assembly's mass and this larger rotor assembly weighs the same as a stock rotor!

The additional 2" of rotor diameter vs. stock (11") provides a significant gain in braking leverage which is very evident when the brakes are applied - less force is required to produce the same braking power.

Directional internal cooling vanes within the rotor provide additional cooling for greater resistance to brake fade.

This kit uses stock calipers which are balanced to the rest of the braking system. The stock calipers are more than adequate to provide the clamping force necessary but with a larger rotor they actually dont have to clamp as hard to produce the same braking force - leverage works to your advantage! By using stock calipers, the entire braking system stays balanced and stock pedal travel is maintained.

Kit Includes:
(2) 13" 2-piece rotors
(2) Caliper relocating brackets
Grade 9 fasteners
Nismo 50mm wheelstuds
Hubcentric locating rings
Hubcentric spacing rings
Installation manual

Your price: $750

We strongly recommend the purchase of our rebuilt calipers to go with this setup. We offer them for only $200 a pair with a $100 core charge. This will ensure that your entire front braking system is in excellent working condition. Pads are not supplied with this kit. We offer a selection of new OEM pads, Hawk pads, and EBC Greenstuff pads. Please see our brake pads here: Stainless steel brake lines make a nice complement to this kit and we offer them at the same link above.

NOTE: This kit requires that you have at lest a 17" wheel in order to fit.
