Message There was a time when "driver safety courses" were covered by insurance companies, but that's changing.
My new Allstate renewal policy basically says I'm not covered for any claims(injury/property/medical) related to:
"- Racing Contest
- Speed Contest
- Use of cycle/car at a track or course designed or used for racing or high performance driving; or in practice or preparation for any contest or use of this type."

For those of us who track our cars the concern here is for both you & the "other guy" at the track = he runs into you or you run into him.

Last month I saw a guy in his S4 total his own car and total a brand new M3 in the same accident. The S4 driver told that Amica auto insurance covered both the S4 and M3's replacement costs(I dont know if there were any subsequent personal injury claims).

At the track, regardless of the event's classification & regardless of any waiver you sign upon entering the track(these waivers only prevent you from suing the track), there is nothing to prevent you from being sued. So if you aren't lucky you could end up being sued by another driver/track worker/spectator for all your present & future net-worth. And your insurance company may not be liable for any of it. Chances are that most insurance companies will follow Allstate with the same clause.
