Message I just moved into these apartments about three weeks ago and already my car has been keyed under the rear center panel the first week, and just last Friday night i went to this party with my roomate and on Saturday I discover that my door handle is sticking out on the bottom. Not the handle itself, but the handle assembly. Some dumbass decided that a screwdriver would be a good substitute for a key and tried to open the door lock with a screwdriver. When that didn't work they figured 'why mess with the lock, I'll just take the handle off.' So they attempted to pry it off. I had to spend part of the day Sunday bending the bracket back to get it to be mostly flush again. Some people have no respect.
I can see my car from my bedroom window so I figure if I catch someone I can make it out there in time with a baseball bat (for protection only) and beat the fool's ass when he tries to 'attack me with a screwdriver'. That just pisses me off.
I do have some suspects in mind ( the thug-looking guys across the courtyard or their thug-looking buddies that are always over there since they saw us both leave that night, or even the thugs upstairs that also have a bedroom view of my car), but I have no real proof. Plus would they really shit where they eat?
It just kind of pisses me off that the previous three owners kept my 300 pretty clean and then my car gets new dents, dings, and scratches just from going to the local electronics store because people don't care about other people's stuff. And then keyed. And then attempted break-in. It still doesn't look all that bad for being 14 years old, but still. Just wanted to share since things like this seem to be a trend as of late on this forum.
