It was sales, change in times ( SUV's ) and cost of labor for repairs and maintenance. There's not many that would buy a car that cost them $4500 to fix bad turbo's and be able to drive the car again. Or spend some $1600 on an injector replacement job. Labor rates for working on the Z are just really bad and that's if you can get a shop to work on it. Oh and last I seen a R34 runs like a low 13 high 12. Something a Cobra can easily do. Now modded them, your still looking at the Cobra coming out on top no matter how much money you spend. There's no replacement for displacement. Ask top Dawg Supra's what can beat them when money is not object. A Twinturbo Viper is what they'll say.
