Anyway, it is imperative that you make sure the car's engine is in great condition. For example, do the regular compression check (I don't remember the E34 5series spec, get that from a dealer or mechanic), but see if the timing chain and rails have been replaced, and if not, have someone inspect their condition. They will be needing replacing soon if it hasn't already been done and this isn't cheap. See when the last Inspection II was done because that is routine large maintainence and when the last Inspection I was done.
BMW engines more than other cars, if neglected, start to get expensive quick, so like your Z, you want a well maintained one because it won't give you problems if you keep it up.
Good luck with the car, they are excellent sedans. Let me know how things turn out. O btw, how are you geting such a killer deal if you don't mind me asking? Thats is a very low price for that car.
