either. Frankly, I can't believe anyone would compare that dyno with any other car at all. Ping, had you told me on the phone yesterday that you had $3K to spend, I would have given you different advice man! =) Even with this bad comparision, some things are clear: 1) The power comes in quicker with the 530BBs (watch the power/rpm) 2) The car makes more power over most of the powerband with the 530BBs (sometimes as much as 40+RWHP at the very same RPM 3) The peak power is completely irrelevant anyway since clearly the car has boosting/leak problems. Look at that chart! Peak power might be fun for an occasional burst of throttle to 100+mph on the freeway, but day in and day out a larger area under the curve is way more fun. Of course, that's subjective and depends upon what the person wants. 4) For those that DO care more about peak power than area under the curve, the 530s have been proven to take over 500RWHP with no problems and NOT tuned to their max with unsafe timing and such. Seems like some people have run into problems getting that much so they blame the turbos. That isn't surprising, but it isn't correct either. I did the same thing to the PE1420s and I was wrong to do it. I waited for more evidence and more dynos to make my final decision. I understand a few of the East coast people haven't got what they expected out of them just yet, but I'd blame the car/tuner before the turbos at this point. There are some VERY happy customers out here with 530BB cars. Sebs is just one example and Chip, if you're reading this, I was a bit low on Rob's car. It wasn't 495 conservatively tuned, it was ~515RWHP with a huge rich spot where the peak power usually occurs. If anyone would like some proof, I can email Rob for the chart. He's a very anal guy (kinda like me) and rest assured his car was not tuned to the gills for peak power. I think there's another car going up in a few days/weeks and that one will likely over 500RWHP as well, with a much better curve than any comprable turbo out there. I'll be sure to keep tabs on it if I can as I may try to dyno the same day if possible. This is not to say the Stage II Z1 turbos are bad in any way, but to compare them with a clearly bad 530BB car is a little misleading, and that's putting it nicely.
