| When properly maintained, an e36 can provide many years of driving enjoyment. My 97 M3 has 98,000 miles and runs like a champ! It is just as good if not better than the day I bought it (which was 4.5 years and 50k miles ago) I'm not saying this from a "my car is more reliable than your car" but just defending the e36 as somebody was suspect. Being an e36 M3 owner, I should have a good idea of how reliable they are (BTW, 97+ build dates included a metal impeller on the water pump... all cars have their small problems, atleast this is fairly simple/cheap to fix ~$50 in parts)
