Just my two cents... I bought my Z last summer, thinking there was no way I could afford a house with this insane market in California. The few thousand I had managed to save would never have been enough, etc. So I bought it and rebuilt the engine and slapped on some new turbos, all in one fell swoop. Nearly one year later, I'm kicking myself for not prioritizing and putting the money into a property. Believe me, if I had known about the various loans out there, I'd be laughing all the way to the bank, as I would have earned enough equity to buy the Z and do everything to it. Instead, I'm now doing 100% financing on an overpriced(like everything else in CA) townhome I could have bought for thousands less last year, and hoping the market continues its upswing so I can refi or sell in 2 years. I had a cracked manifold a few months ago, and Greg diagnosed it simply by listening to it. Needless to say, I was pretty ticked, as you are now. As bad as it may sound, I would say just spend a few hundred and replace the manifolds with some used ones, to tide you over for a year. Its money down the tube, but at least your car will drive normally, and you could put what money you have into something that will appreciate. Good luck!
