And actually, technically I am a scientist with a degree and all :) I can certainly accept that different people have different recommendations, just in this case yours seems to be pritty baseless and unfounded. Your attempting to make out that "scientifically" these turbos must be proven by having large sample size with small variance in results. What a load of crock. Its simple mechanics not rocket science. This turbo with X mods will potentially produce this HP. Once it has been proven, the varience with the same supporting mods and engine condition will be minor. There is a large variance in results with these turbos because there is a huge difference in the condition and mods of the engines it has been put on so far. This is true of all turbos so I dont see why you think these have to be different. They are a PROVEN performer, have PROVEN reliability, and I think I have PROVEN you have no idea idea what your on about.
