Message The center support bearing on my driveshaft is starting to wear, which leads me to this issue.... replace the center support bearing (~$120) or consider a 1-piece drive shaft.

Both driveshafts have their good and bad points (1-piece can put a little more power to the ground, at the risk of vibration or even snapping [read a few horror stories of snapped driveshafts], while the 2-piece [keep in mind, Nissan would've put in a 1-piece if they thought it was more beneficial] will, obviously, go through center supports in its life, but is less likely to have vibration or issues due to chasis flex).

I wish that I could go with the ACPT carbon-fiber drive shaft, but for cost effectiveness, it ain't gonna happen.

This leaves me with the Z1 1-piece drive shaft or fix the center support.

Basically, what I hope to get out of this post is more knowledge than the limited stuff I got from searching (I know, no Powertrain driveshafts, ACPT probably is the best, didn't see any posts about problems with the Z1 unit, etc), and more peace of mind when I make my decision.

I'm really stuck here because, we (Ultimate Z) have swapped out 1-piece driveshafts for OEM driveshafts on multiple occasions due to vibrations and (in at least one instance so far this year) breaking, which worries me of course. All those customers ended up happy with the 2-piece in the end.

The idea of an all new driveshaft, lighter than stock, and capable of putting a few more ponies to the ground comforts me.
Worrying about if it's going to snap on me during my commute to work [tipping 100mph on the highway a few times each day] or at the end of the quarter mile track (the one I attend being 75 miles away), doesn't comfort me.

Any input?

FWIW, as stated in the beginning, it's only starting to give me problems. It doesn't even do it at speed, only when leaving from a stop, and minimal at that.

John, if you're reading this, I've spoke with Chris about this a couple times and I don't intend to make a final decision before taking all possibilities into account. I know you and Chris tend to be biased towards stock here (and I understand why), but I'd like to explore other possibilities as well.
