they were design for race car applications with the intent to improve race car performance. (period). they drilled the rotors to decrease rotating weight (and static) weight, and to help vent gasses from older brake pads that would gas.that being said, you'll be hard pressed to find cross drilled rotors on any race cars these days. Mainly because they use titanium rotors that weigh in at 2 to 5 pounds each. Blank rotors (no bullshit machining) will be your best performer for every application. Everything else is for asthetics only. NOT Imho.
